So I set out to find the perfect pattern, I suppose I could have made it up myself, but this seemed like a better idea. I found it on Etsy, a company called Bit of Whimsy and I set out to make the girls.
Meet Elli
and say hello to Alice
Their faces are hand embroidered, their hair is 100% wool felt, their bodies are made from broadcloth and their dresses and shirts are made from top of the line designer fabric, these dolls are stuffed with all natural wool stuffing. Every seam is double-stitched for durability, because these babies are meant to be played with, meant to be snuggled and loved. And if they fall apart with love (like Owen's bear - oh my that little guy is looking atrocious) then auntie can just whip them up a look alike and hope they won't notice the difference ;).
So here's where you come in... the designer of the pattern offers a cottage license to make and sell these beautiful dolls using her pattern. There are strict rules as to how many can be for sale at a time so it wouldn't be a major money maker. But I had such fun designing these sweet dolls that I just couldn't stop (which is why you will meet the sisters next week), and I think I would find great joy in making them for others as well. So leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Melissa, these are beyond darling. I recently made several of the Black Apple dolls, but these are definitely cuter. I planned on making seven for my nieces' Christmas presents, but I think i might want to switch to this pattern. They are adorable. I especially love the first one.
Oh, Melissa, I would love to learn how to make these adorable little dolls for my nieces. Will you teach me??
